Influences
Zen Buddhism majorly influenced many, if not all, of the authors of the Beat Movement. World War II also influenced the Beat Movement. After the war, many students began questioning the structure of society and the way everything was ran. These questions started and carried the Beat Movement through the decade.
These two pages, along with the one page linked above, beautifully explain, in detail, what influenced the Beat Movement, the authors of the Beat Movement, and the authors works of the Beat Movement.
